It was exciting sport in the U25 dressage arena in Mannheim. On the occasion of the qualification for Piaff-Förderpreis the best U25 dressage riders of the republic gathered in Mannheim.

After Semmieke Rothenberger with her mare Flanell was able to win the qualifier, today a young man, actually from Mainz but now living in Bavaria, stood in front. Raphael Netz. The 22-year-old has been a rider in Aubenhausen for the siblings Benjamin and Jessica Werndl for several years.

Together with his stallion "Elastico", bred in the Netherlands, he stood in front today. His performance in the Grand Prix was awarded 75.103 percent by the international panel of judges. The previous day, the two were still eighth in the Einlaufprüfunjen after some tension.

Hannah Erbe had a silver weekend in the truest sense of the word. Together with her long-time partner "Carlos FRH" she came in second. Both in the run-in test and in the qualification, the two came in second. The young Amazon from the Rhineland is currently employed part-time as a rider at the Krüsterhof of the Hinnemann family.

Third place was taken by the winner of the entry test, Semmieke Rothenberger with Flanell. Together, the pair scored exactly 74.000%.

The fourth place was taken by last year's winner of the final in Kronberg. Ann-Kathrin Lindner and her proven FBW Sunfire. The Württemberger reached together with his rider 73.873%.

About the Piaff-Förderpreis it says: "The participants in the Piaff-Förderpreis are young dressage riders up to 25 years, who are on their way to grow into the big sport. Where the sport used to lose many good young talents, either because they missed the jump to Grand Prix, shied away from the "big" competition or simply because professional training took priority, today - thanks to the Piaff Sponsorship Prize - a scene of its own has emerged. A scene of young Grand Prix riders who take the opportunity to slowly familiarize themselves with the highest demands of dressage without having to compete against professionals and current top riders. In the Piaff Promotion Prize, riders are "among themselves" and grow together with the tasks - just as they did when they were juniors or young riders. The qualifiers are the Intermediaire II and the U25 Grand Prix. At the final, the finalists have to master the U25 Grand Prix as well as the current international Grand Prix.

The Piaff-Förderpreis was named after the famous dressage horse Piaff ridden by Olympic champion Liselott Schindling-Rheinberger, better known as Linsenhoff. It is also the Liselott Schindling Foundation for the Promotion of Dressage Riding that makes this series possible."

In addition to the qualifier now being held in Mannheim, there will also be further qualifiers in Balve (June 3-6), Bettenrode (July 7-11) and Elmlohe (July 29-August 1). The final will traditionally take place in Stuttgart, on the occasion of the international tournament in the Schleyer-Halle (November 10-14).
